Playoff is a small conceptual-experiential app that turns the annoying “what should we watch?” moment into a quick and playful mini-game. Instead of endlessly scrolling or debating, two players compete through a short interaction where there is a winner and a loser, but both still influence the final movie choice.
the problem & Solution
Choosing a movie with someone else often becomes a frustrating loop of scrolling, rejecting options, and saying “you choose.” The issue is not a lack of content, but the difficulty of making a shared decision quickly and enjoyably.

Playoff adds a playful structure to the decision-making moment. By turning preferences into part of the game, it helps both players participate in the choice while keeping the experience light, quick, and entertaining.
Research
I began by reviewing movie-ticket apps, streaming and recommendation platforms, and general decision-making apps. I looked at how existing products help users choose a movie or series, where the experience feels limited, and how the decision process could become more interactive and experience-driven.
